Sanderling House

Arriving at Sanderling House Bed and Breakfast in Deltaville is an enchanting experience. From the moment you turn into the driveway, which is Hamble Lane, begin to 'enjoy'. During the Spring, Summer and Fall Hamble Lane is overhung with leafy fronds, which have been described as mysteriously delightful, giving a feeling of being somewhere very special; which of course is true.

The house is of contemporary colonial design built in 1970. On the front side of the house which is creek side, are colonial columns giving way to the front entrance. However, arrival is on the wooded side of the house, being more convenient to the parking lot. Of tri-level design, once inside, there are a few steps up into the butler's pantry, onward into the Sun Lounge and Dining Room.

The deck is beyond the patio doors, leading outside to overlook the creek, marina and front yard, which slopes down to the banks of Broad Creek. Herons, turtles and sea otter are amongst the most common wild creatures here on the water's edge; above, there could be circling, some of the many osprey which nest nearby. Chess men stand to attention in this part of the yard, waiting to be brought to life with a game. On the other side of the house is the woodland in which there are racoon, deer and rabbits.

We tempt you to listen to our peace and quiet...the purrrfect 'switch off' experience complimented by our rooms each with private bathrooms and various amenities. Something for everyone.

Please note that we are cat people and 3 cats reside at Sanderling House. They do not, however, go into the bedrooms, and indeed our guests may never see them; (if we know you do not like cats they will be kept out of your way) but for those who are allergic, I can not promise there will be no cat dander in the air, even with all the latest vacuuming technology!
